8 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas: Kingston Edition

1. Fondue Date

Cacao 70 (340 King St E) has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and is one of the best kept secrets of downtown. Located right beside Jack Astor’s near the Springer Market Square skating rink, Cacao 70 is known best for their chocolate fondue pots, but you can also order this swoon-worthy raspberry and chocolate dessert pizza!

2. Skating in Springer Market Square + BEAVERTAILS

Enjoy one of Kingston most romantic places, and get outside for this winter wonderland date! Go out with your single friends, or ask out that cutie in your tutorial. Downtown Kingston is all lit up with FebFest winter festival activities happening around the Square and in Confederation Park! Must have: BeaverTails! Open all on weekends only. Bonus: there are 5 different coffee-shops within a 5 minute walk of the skating rink, where you can go for a coffee or hot chocolate to warm up afterwards!

3. Go to the movies at The Screening Room!

4. ‘Mindfulness’ session

It can be tough to find stress-free moments alone with your partner when you’re both drowning in schoolwork. This fun, free drop-in workshop (happening every Wednesday from 12pm-1pm) is all about introducing you to the art of Mindfulness, a thoughtful way of coping with difficulties and improving the quality of your day-to-day life.

5. Get the cutest couple photo of ALL TIME at Lost Paws Awareness Week

Don’t miss the Valentine’s Day PUPPY Photo Booth in CoGro on Wednesday, Feb. 14th! Funds raised go to the Kingston Humane Society and the Kingston Animal Rescue. Cuddles and puppy kisses definitely included!

6. Take your date to the Theatre!

“Pretty Pieces” is a powerful one-act play, performed by Hannah Smith and Martin Fobert in the Baby Grand theatre. We spend an hour with the Girl and the Boy in their apartment.. She is a shut-in, and it is her birthday. She is expecting cake, but he has other plans and their relationship comes to a head. Performing at the Baby Grand Theatre nightly Feb. 8-10, Feb. 14-17. 7. Fall in love at Valentine’s day Yoga in an Art Gallery!

Such a cute and active date idea! Valentine’s date that your yoga-loving cutie or best friend is a date idea they’ll never forget! An instructed yoga class at Union Gallery (1st floor Stauffer Library) is coming up on Wednesday, Feb. 14th from 5:30pm-6:30pm, with a suggested donation of $5 per person.

8. Trivia Night at The Brooklyn (19+)

Test your obscure pop culture knowledge at The Brooklyn on February 14th! This is a fantastic double date or triple date idea, or you could go with all your single friends (up to 6 people) for an unValentine’s Day night out! Doors open at 8pm, and tables fill up fast, so plan to arrive early! Trivia starts at 9pm and there’s no cover! Note: this event is 19+ only.
