Not everyone goes home for Reading Week, and Kingston is never short of fun stuff to do while you are here. Tons of events are happening everyday in Kingston and here are a few of QueensEvents’ top picks!
Got a car? Drive up to Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area (near Division & the 401) for a day in the great outdoors! Staff will be on hand to help suggest great hiking routes, where to feed the chickadees and other ways to enjoy nature with family and friends of all ages.
Weather and trail conditions permitting, you can also head out on a snowshoe trek, cross-country ski on our groomed trails (rentals are available at the Outdoor Centre) or take part in an ‘eyes-only’ scavenger hunt. At 2 p.m., come gather around the fire pit to roast marshmallows!
Musiikki Open Mic Night is a fun way to hone your skills and try something new! This popular weekly open mic night is a MUST for musicians, music lovers, and culture-seekers in Kingston! Every Tuesday, upstairs at Musiikki Cafe & Whiskey Bar on Brock Street.
Who doesn’t love pasta? What can be better than unlimited pasta night! Everyone is welcome to our ALL YOU CAN EAT Pasta Night! Wednesday, February 20 from 5pm-7pm. Art Afternoon! Art Hive at the Agnes Centre is calling all young adults (18–24), drop-in for art and wellness on February 21st at 4pm. Relax, re-charge and expand your creative powers in the Studio. Art Hive is free; materials are provided and no prior art experience is necessary. If you are looking for guidance, our art therapist/facilitator offers weekly projects and visits to our current exhibitions. Great relaxation activity to help chill and recharge over reading week!

Never learned to skate? New Canadian? Come learn the basics of how to stay upright on the ice by friendly instructors! Must be 16 years+, first come first served.
FREE Try Ringette! Come out and try ringette – the fastest game on ice. This event is open to all ages! There will be a 30 minute demonstration and introduction from 1pm-1:30pm and participants will be on the ice from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Kingston Ringette Association will provide sticks, rings and FUN! @ Springer Market Square
