12:15-12:50pm: St. George’s Cathedral Summer Concerts begin with a performance by the SHHH!! Ensemble (Percussionist Zac Pulak and Pianist Edana Higham) visiting from Ottawa. Admission is free, with a freewill offering collected. The Cathedral is at 270 King St. E. (at Johnson) in Kingston. Join us for a mid-day musical interlude!
2-4pm: Meet the Mayor’s Task Force on Housing at City Hall during an open house to find out more about the project, its progress and the plan moving forward. Get a better understanding of the housing situation in Kingston and learn what the City is currently doing to address it.
4pm-6pm: Adults are welcome to drop-in for art and wellness in the Studio at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre. Free event, materials are provided and no prior art experience is necessary.
5:30pm-8pm: Join the Artists of the Tett Centre’s Creativity Studio for an engaging and entertaining experience in the arts. This month featuring an artist talk by Michelle Reid – alongside art demos. Enjoy snacks and beverages as you peruse our studios and mingle with the artists and fellow art lovers. Admission is by donation.
6pm-8pm: For those who have some paddling experience and are looking for company, Paddle & Pint is a 2-hour exploration of Kingston’s inner harbour by Kayak, followed by a visit to one of our favorite downtown pubs! 8pm: Far from being just another cover band, The ABBA Show is a full-scale concert production featuring more than two hours of fun, energetic musical performances with a live backing band, replica costumes, theatrical lighting and effects and all the dancing an ABBA fan can handle. 7pm: Ensemble Dedalus (France) plays the music of Eliane Radigue:one of Europe’s preeminent contemporary chamber orchestras based in France, is touring Canada playing the music of composer Eliane Radigue. This Friday at The Isabel’s Rehearsal Hall, the program “Dedalus” will present three recent works. Radigue’s music is deeply absorbing, meditative, and rooted in her practice of Tibetan Buddhism.
