In honour of Queen’s 175th anniversary, the university and the Hong Kong Branch of the Queen’s University Alumni Association are hosting a unique evening of extraordinary Queen’s connections in Hong Kong on Saturday, May 20.
This celebration, hosted in Hong Kong, will be a hallmark event for a remarkable year of 175th anniversary events. It will celebrate Queen’s strong ties with the Asia-Pacific region, the students who come to Queen’s from the region, and the alumni who live and work there.
In the afternoon, alumni, students, family and friends are invited to participate in a celebration modelled after a convocation ceremony. Alumni will be honoured participants, and there will be a presentation of an honorary degree to long-time Queen’s volunteer and retired High Court Judge Kin Kee Pang, Arts’70. This will be the first honorary degree to be conferred by Queen’s outside of Canada.
In the evening, Queen’s Professor Emeritus and Nobel Laureate Dr. Art McDonald will be the keynote speaker at a gala dinner.
