Intro to Machine Learning (FREE)

Saturday, Jul. 14 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for the next event in our Women’s Coding Workshop series!
This workshop is offered in partnership with Innovate Kingston, and will be instructed by Mohammed Hamada Gasmallah. Hamada is a graduate student at Queen’s University and specializes in machine learning and computer vision.

Join us for an introduction to a machine learning workshop focused on computer vision and neural networks. You’ll get a simple-to-follow introduction to neural networks, machine learning and the basics of computer vision. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a functional image digit recognizer and you’ll have the knowledge and experience to make your own simple image classifiers.

Please bring a charged laptop and download Anaconda and Python 3.6 prior to coming to the event. If you have any problems installing the software, our volunteer mentors will help you during the introdution & setup period at the start of the workshop.

We believe programming is an important skill for everyone to have in this day and age where technology is so relevant. Sudo strives to build a welcoming environment where women can improve their technical skills through our workshops. While our mission focuses on empowering women, people of all genders are welcome to attend our workshops.

We may be able to provide laptops for those unable to bring one. Please email us at to secure a laptop.
