Luminous Night of the Soul

The Kingston Choral Society, under the direction of Ian Juby, presents an evening of soul stirring music for choir, piano and string quartet. The group will perform works of great beauty by Vivaldi, Mozart, Ola Gjeilo, Daniel Elder and more. The choir is thrilled to be joined in this project by musicians from the Kingston Symphony, Clare Miller, piano, Danielle Lennon & Lisa Draper, violin, Julia McFarlane, viola and Jeff Hamacher, cello. Gjeilo and Elder are both acclaimed young composers, famous for creating music which is undeniably beautiful and moving. Please join us for this wonderful event.

The Kingston Choral Society has been part of the cultural fabric in Kingston for over 60 years, performing music of breadth and diversity. KCS searches out new music and new fields of work resulting in a wide repertoire ranging from early to contemporary music including oratorio and operatic works. Most recently, the choir performed Mozart’s Requiem to a capacity crowd and will perform Handel’s Messiah in December 2018.

About the Venue: Sydenham Street United Church is a landmark in historic downtown Kingston, constructed in 1852 and recently rebranded as The Spire. The Spire is an accessible building.
