The Quarantine Tent is a free drop-in educational event from 10-6 p.m. offering visitors the opportunity to interact with “time-travellers” from the past who are recovering from diseases such as diphtheria, polio and smallpox. The volunteers will be dressed in period costumes with professional makeup simulating the diseases’ effects.
On July 1, the Museum of Health Care at Kingston will launch three free exhibits: “The Century: Medical Innovations of the 1800s,” “Growing Pains: the 1867 Crisis at Kingston General Hospital” and “Quack: the Exhibit That Cures All!” There is free admission, tours, family-friendly activities, and refreshments.

The Panthers will host a festival and matches for all of our club sides, followed by a club (adult) social. This event will be held in conjunction with other activities this weekend, including a golf tourney and Hall of Fame dinner on July 7th and “Kingston Panthers Rugby Football Club Day” in Kingston on July 9th. All current and former club members are welcome to come and celebrate the 50th year of Panther’s Rugby.
The cooking demos are all about Kingston’s best chefs coming together with local producers to share their knowledge and passion for local food with the public. These demos are focused on inspiring people to use more local food at home and giving them the skills to do so.
